Joining our Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure) team you will ensure seamless operational efficiencies, collectively ensuring that the Vista Cloud and VMS offering maintains the highest levels of services and availability for our customers, utilizing internal systems to build, monitor, and alleviate any issues in our hosted cloud environments.


About the role

Service Operations Management

  • Ensure a high-level quality of services provided by all our offices
  • Ensure that systems, processes, and methodologies as specified are followed to ensure effective monitoring, control, and support of service delivery
  • Ensure the company tools and information systems are utilized correctly and relevant information is provided
  • Ensure effective monitoring, control, and support of service delivery

Product and Technical Support

  • Remain current on all aspects of Vista Cloud technology, deployment, and operational processes
  • Train local internal support teams and act as the escalation point for queries related to Vista Cloud and VMS
  • Provide technical advice and assistance for staff across Vista on difficult business and software related issues
  • Provide a resolution path for issues, whether hands-on assistance or simply direction on how to approach issue resolution
  • A key contact point for any technical issues encountered by staff in the overseas offices

Customer Service

  • Provide technical advice and assistance on tough installations or configurations where these have been escalated to the Team Lead / Head of Cloud Operations
  • Travels when required

Technical Support

  • Use internal systems to resolve Project and Incident related work
  • Conduct regular reviews of work quality and throughput with the Head of Cloud Operations and other Managers (NZ and overseas), and drill down into the analysis of any problems where required to ensure consistency of approach and that standards are being maintained
  • Provide advice to the Development Team on possible solutions to software problems found by the Services team or managed service team
  • Work as part of the DevOps team to resolve Managed Services Incidents
  • Pro-actively works on creating Monitoring Scripts and manages the internal systems to gain operational efficiencies at Scale

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Management Office (PMO) with Statement of Work (SoW) scoping and technical reviews
  • Utilize appropriate tools like ClickUp, SmartSheet, Wrike, and Manage Engine, to log requests with the services team.
  • Assist Account Managers, Business Development, Product, and Engineering with technical pre-sales conversations relating to Vista Cloud
  • Create material for monthly reports on Vista Cloud operational performance as required

The Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure) Role

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant degree in technology (preferred)
  • ITIL qualification (preferred)
  • Azure or AWS Certification
  • Strong Administrator Experience MCSE / MCSA Az 104 AZ 301, AZ 900
  • ITSM Service desks Like ConnectWise, Zendesk
  • APM Tools (Application Monitoring tools) SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Azure App insights, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Domains, DNS, DHCP
  • Strong understating of IP / networking and enterprise architecture
  • Strong understanding of firewalling, Security, and compliance related elements
  • Knowledge of DevOps / Repo, deployment pipelines, and approval processes for IaC (infrastructure as code)
  • Strong SQL Admin experience
  • Understating of distributed architecture, service mesh, of AKS or Kubernetes
  • Medium-level T SQL experience
  • Knowledge of API’s
  • Willingness to learn and grow into a IaC space
